Raised in a Catholic and LDS home – Why Lindsey chose The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for herself

“I feel like if we could just look around to the people in our communities and the people that that need us, it takes away like the I factor and it becomes we. And as soon as you do that, no matter where you’re at in your life, whether you’re a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, whether you’re Catholic, whether you’re agnostic, as soon as you look out to others and find a way to help people, you can’t help but feel the Spirit.” 00:00 Too Much Pressure 05:00 Two Faiths At Home 06:13 Mom’s Faithful Example 12:03 Catholic Confirmation Interview 16:05 Truth In Other Religions 20:05 Parents And Mixed Faith Marriage 23:45 Foster Care And Service Mindset Shift 31:35 Final Testimony And Farewell Memor Jewelry code COMEBACK for 10% off https://memorjewelry.com/ Serve Clothing code COMEBACK for 15% off https://serveclothing.com/ If you have a story to share please fill out the form: https://form.jotform.com/233109071625046 For inquiries contact info.comebackpodcast@gmail.com Come Back Team: Director, Founder, & Host: Ashly Stone Editor: Cara Reed Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Assistant Editor: Britt Smallze Art Director: Jeremy Garcia Production Director: Trent Wardwell
From new age witchcraft to the temple – how Jesus saved Kelsea’s marriage and her mental health

This is a replay of a story shared in 2024. “ The foundation of my testimony was the doctrine of the church is right. The way we understand the plan of salvation and eternal progression and all of the things that make us different from mainstream Christianity, I knew to be true based on my reading of the scriptures and praying about it. I was really given a strong testimony of it. And because of that it was like all of the messy history, all the things that the anti-Mormons love to use to sow doubt and stuff, that was all downstream from that. It was like, well, none of that changes that the doctrine is what my testimony is, and I believe the doctrine is true.” 00:00 Terrifying Night 05:41 Meet Kelsey 06:16 Leaving the Church at 12 11:22 New Age Deep Dive to Breaking Point 26:42 Love Rekindled: Seeing Your Spouse with New Eyes 28:22 Calling on Jesus & the Reality of Spiritual Warfare 38:00 Testimony of Doctrine, Temple Endowment, and Family Support 46:06 New Age as a Counterfeit: Stay Focused on Christ Memor Jewelry code COMEBACK for 10% off https://memorjewelry.com/ Serve Clothing code COMEBACK for 15% off https://serveclothing.com/ If you have a story to share please fill out the form: https://form.jotform.com/233109071625046 For inquiries contact info.comebackpodcast@gmail.com Come Back Team: Director, Founder, & Host: Ashly Stone Editor: Cara Reed Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Assistant Editor: Britt Smallze Art Director: Jeremy Garcia Production Director: Trent Wardwell
Maxine Hanks discusses mormon feminism, excommunication, and finding her way back to the LDS church

“I’m a feminist theologian who was excommunicated and I’d been a Gnostic Christian for 15 years. I didn’t know where to start. We let Christ, the living bridge be the bridge between us. We didn’t presume to come from our own perspectives. You know, I was saying things like. “Well, you know, I was excommunicated. Do we need to go back and revisit all of that?” And they said, “No, no. All we care about is your relationship with Christ. Tell us about your faith and your relationship with Christ and with God.” And so I did and we just turned it over to God and prayed and then it was beautiful. This is what’s hard for a lot of my friends and a lot of feminists to understand. Like, was I recapitulating? Was I surrendering? Was I giving up my feminism? No. They never asked me to recant or give up anything. We were exploring a new relationship between feminists and church leaders. I saw them as my brothers. They were like pillars. They were so loving and so kind, and it was just utterly healing.” 00:00 Excommunicated over Women’s Studies 04:39 Maxine’s Historical and Theological Journey 15:00 Excommunication and Its Impact 20:26 Exploring Other Faiths and Gnostic Christianity 32:10 Divine Feminine in LDS Doctrine 35:03 Returning to the Church 38:09 Feminism and Healing 46:58 Experiencing the Body of Christ Latter day MatchMaker Serve Clothing code COMEBACK for 15% offhttps://serveclothing.com/memor jewelry – 10% Discount code: COMEBACKhttps://memorjewelry.com/ Serve Clothing code COMEBACK for 15% off https://serveclothing.com/ If you have a story to share please contact ashly.comebackpodcast@gmail.com For inquiries contact info.comebackpodcast@gmail.com Come Back Team: Director, Founder, & Host: Ashly Stone Editor: Cara Reed Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Assistant Editor: Michelle Berger Assistant Editor: Britt Smallze Art Director: Jeremy Garcia Production Director: Trent Wardwell
Ashly Stone interviews Don Bradley at the FAIR Conference August 2025

“For those who are struggling with doubt, one thing that I would say is keep hold of the things that you do know are true. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Whatever has worked in your life, spiritually, make sure you keep doing that. Don’t let yourself get so focused no the things that you are struggling with, or that are disturbing to you, that you stop doing those things. Those things can serve as an anchor.” If you have a story to share please contact ashly.comebackpodcast@gmail.com For inquiries contact info.comebackpodcast@gmail.com Come Back Team: Director, Founder, & Host: Ashly Stone Editor: Cara Reed Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Assistant Editor: Michelle Berger Assistant Editor: Britt Smallze Art Director: Jeremy Garcia Production Director: Trent Wardwell
Don Bradley’s story of removing of records, rediscovering truth, and returning to Christ’s church

“One evening after work, I actually had been pondering all this. And just realized, I was completely convinced that God had tried to reach out to the world, reach out to me through Christ, and so I went into one of the little side classrooms that they have there that was empty and prayed, and just accepted Christ, confessed my sins, my sinfulness. And that night walking home I just experienced wave after wave of peace coming over me. I like to say it’s not just like an absence of trouble. It’s peace, like a positive, palpable presence, right? Something there. It felt so thick, you could cut it with a knife. I felt that God loved me. I felt God’s love overwhelmingly.” Website: https://www.comebackpodcast.org Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/come.back.podcast/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100085100628137 Twitter: https://twitter.com/Come_Back_Pod Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@come.back.podcast Join our Book Club: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1129233501137568/ If you have a story to share please contact: ashly.comebackpodcast@gmail.com For business inquiries contact: info.comebackpodcast@gmail.com Come Back Team: Director, Founder & Host: Ashly Stone Editor: Cara Reed Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Assistant Editor: Michelle Berger Art Director: Jeremy Garcia Production Director: Trent Wardwell
Tattooed, Tested, and Transformed: Sage’s Journey to the Temple

“It’s a little scary, you know, going to church with tattoos for the first time or having multicolored hair and going to church or dressing a certain way. But like at the end of the day, we are all children of God. He’s just happy to see us there. And even if you don’t feel like you belong, you belong because he accepts you. You belong because you belong with Christ. Not because you belong with the crowd, but because you belong with Christ.” – Sage’s instagram: ReturnwithSage – Episode Sponsor Brick House Recovery Website: https://www.comebackpodcast.org Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/come.back.podcast/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100085100628137 Twitter: https://twitter.com/Come_Back_Pod Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@come.back.podcastJoin our Book Club: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1129233501137568/ If you have a story to share please contact: ashly.comebackpodcast@gmail.com For business inquiries contact: info.comebackpodcast@gmail.com Come Back Team:Director, Founder & Host: Ashly Stone Editor: Cara Reed Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Assistant Editor: Michelle Berger Art Director: Jeremy Garcia Production Director: Trent Wardwell
Convert from Catholicism, Emmanuel has his records removed and then finds his way back to the gospel

“Things continue to happen as long as you keep seeking. You know, if you’re a seeker and you found the church, rev up to think about what you were doing when you were seeking. How much were you reading? How much were you praying? Who did you associate yourself with? Where did you spend your time? Okay. Get back into that mode, then come back to your current self. Game time! You’ll be able to feel the gospel alive again.” – Book recommendation: Standing For Something, by Gordon B. Tiffany had doubts about the church and the temple, then returns and feels closer to God than ever.

“I am so glad that I’ve been on both ends because to feel what it actually feels like is really cool. So many times I’d be like, ‘What if I wouldn’t have come back? I wouldn’t have had this experience. And I wouldn’t be able to associate with these people in the way that I have been.’ And every time I was just so thankful that there was a desire in me that never gave up looking for Jesus. And that other people listened to the Spirit and came and found me, you know? All the time I’m like, thank you for letting me come back. I’m so glad I’m back.” – Book recommendation: Worth the Wrestle, by Sheri L. Matthew grew up Protestant but couldn’t deny the truth of the Book of Mormon. After his own faith crisis he is working towards sealing his family in the temple.

“Something told me to read the New Testament again under these new eyes of coming back to faith. I was prompted to start in the book of Acts because that told me how the early church was laid out. You see that the apostles have authority. You see the apostles laying on their hands to receive the Holy Ghost. You see the apostles baptizing. You even see the apostles go to the temple. While looking around, no other church fit that criteria but The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I really started to want to come back to the church because I felt that it was the closest to the Bible.” Come Back Team: Director, Founder & Host: Ashly Stone Producer and Senior Editor: Lauren Rose Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Editor: Michelle Berger Art Director: Jeremy Garcia Episode sponsor: Serve Clothing https://serveclothing.com/?gad_source=1
Kelsea’s dark experience with New Age theology and how turning her heart to Jesus Christ saved her marriage.

“I think that’s actually why New Age is so dangerous, because there’s so much about it that are counterfeits of the restored gospel. There’s so much about it that feels true and sounds true, you can convince yourself it is true because it’s a bunch of truth mixed with lies. It’s a counterfeit of part of the restored gospel. I think that’s why a lot of LDS women seem to gravitate towards it because it’s so similar to what they already know and feel. That’s what makes counterfeits so dangerous is that they look like the real thing. Even meditation is not bad, I think the highest form of meditation is prayer. What is prayer if it’s not meditating with God? Do you want to spend this 20 minutes meditating with yourself and just opening your mind up to whatever? Or do you want to spend that 20 minutes meditating with God in prayer, which is something you already have? And then there’s energy healing, but where does the healing come from? These people don’t have the priesthood they’re not getting it from Christ. So where is that coming from?” Come Back Team: Director, Founder & Host: Ashly Stone Producer and Senior Editor: Lauren Rose Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Editor: Michelle Berger Art Director: Jeremy Garcia Episode sponsor: Serve Clothing https://serveclothing.com/?gad_source=1
