From new age witchcraft to the temple – how Jesus saved Kelsea’s marriage and her mental health

This is a replay of a story shared in 2024.   “   The foundation of my testimony was the doctrine of the church is right. The way we understand the plan of salvation and eternal progression and all of the things that make us different from mainstream Christianity, I knew to be true based on my reading of the scriptures and praying about it. I was really given a strong testimony of it. And because of that it was like all of the messy history, all the things that the anti-Mormons love to use to sow doubt and stuff, that was all downstream from that. It was like, well, none of that changes that the doctrine is what my testimony is, and I believe the doctrine is true.”   00:00 Terrifying Night 05:41 Meet Kelsey 06:16 Leaving the Church at 12 11:22 New Age Deep Dive to Breaking Point 26:42 Love Rekindled: Seeing Your Spouse with New Eyes 28:22 Calling on Jesus & the Reality of Spiritual Warfare 38:00 Testimony of Doctrine, Temple Endowment, and Family Support 46:06 New Age as a Counterfeit: Stay Focused on Christ   Memor Jewelry code COMEBACK for 10% off https://memorjewelry.com/   Serve Clothing code COMEBACK for 15% off https://serveclothing.com/   If you have a story to share please fill out the form: https://form.jotform.com/233109071625046   For inquiries contact info.comebackpodcast@gmail.com   Come Back Team:   Director, Founder, & Host: Ashly Stone Editor: Cara Reed Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Assistant Editor: Britt Smallze Art Director: Jeremy Garcia Production Director: Trent Wardwell

Clare’s path to sobriety and Jesus Christ sparked a conversion she never expected — her husband’s

“I’m just so grateful for the Atonement. I don’t know where I would be if I wasn’t able to start new and have the love of the Savior. And I know that everyone has it. Everyone has the light of Christ in them, and it’s a minute at a time to an hour at a time to a day at a time. And if you don’t get those answers that you’re looking for, just keep hanging on, keep holding on. Find someone that you can trust.” — Clare’s podcast: The Convert Devotionals: https://www.youtube.com/@theconvertdevotionals Elder Holland’s talk, “Like a Broken Vessel”: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2013/10/like-a-broken-vessel?lang=eng — 00:00 Anxiety and Panic Attacks 02:50 Guest Introduction: Claire’s Background 05:12 Struggles with Addiction 08:27 Path to Sobriety and Faith 17:13 The Repentance Journey 18:14 Supportive Spouse and Chris’s Conversion 25:05 Agoraphobia and Mental Health 33:01 Empathy and Adoption 35:37 Gratitude for the Atonement Jason Coombs free webclass, ‘The Secret to Sobriety: How to Break Your Son’s Addiction Without Paying $30,000 for Rehab’, Next Class starts Saturday August 2 at 9:30am. Once an ex-mo content creator attacking the church, Lia is now an endowed disciple of Jesus Christ

“If there are some of you who have been tricked into the conviction that you have gone too far, that you have had the poison of sin, which makes it impossible ever again to be what you could have been then hear me – I bear testimony that you cannot sink further than the light and sweeping intelligence of Jesus Christ. I bear testimony that as long as there is one spark of the will to repent and to reach, He is there. He did not just descend to your condition. He descended below it that He might be in all and through all things, the Light of Truth.”   Jason Coombs free webclass, ‘The Secret to Sobriety: How to Break Your Son’s Addiction Without Paying $30,000 for Rehab’, Register for this free webclass here: https://www.liveunhooked.com/register   Serve Clothing code COMEBACK for 15% offhttps://serveclothing.com   00:00 A Personal Mission of Rebellion 07:25 Lia’s Background and Early Life 12:26 Struggles with Mental Health and Faith 28:54 Embracing Ex-Mormon Content 30:10 Turning to Opioids and a New Church 43:59 Rediscovering Her Patriarchal Blessing 44:55 Returning to the Temple 48:12 Messages of Hope   If you have a story to share please contact info.comebackpodcast@gmail.com   For business inquiries contact info.comebackpodcast@gmail.com Come Back Team:Director, Founder, & Host: Ashly Stone Editor: Cara Reed Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Assistant Editor: Britt Smallze Art Director: Jeremy Garcia Production Director: Trent Wardwell

Fertility trials sent Allie into a dark spiral, Jesus Christ gave her a reason to believe again

“When you’re in those dark moments or dark places, it’s hard to feel God, it’s hard to find him in your story. Looking back on my whole story, I was expecting an answer of him removing this sickness from me, and it was more so Him showing up in my story. I believe in a God who works 24/7. I don’t believe in coincidences. It’s easier to look back and see His fingerprint, but ultimately He’s there with you every step of the way, whether you see it or not.”     Episode brought to you by Cozy Earth and Brickhouse Recovery Website: https://www.comebackpodcast.org Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/come.back.podcast Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100085100628137 Twitter: https://twitter.com/Come_Back_Pod Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@come.back.podcast If you have a story to share please contact: info.comebackpodcast@gmail.com For business inquiries contact: info.comebackpodcast@gmail.com Come Back Team: Director, Founder & Host: Ashly Stone Editor: Cara Reed Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Assistant Editor: Britt Smallze Art Director: Jeremy Garcia Production Director: Trent Wardwell

Jennifer shares how the Savior helps her overcome personal challenges at church and how she came back from “quiet quitting.”

“Sometimes at school I would go into the bathroom when I was just having a really bad day at school and I would just close the door on the stall and pray: ‘If I’m doing the right thing, I need your help.’ And I just remember feeling my Heavenly Father’s love just pour over me. It was tangible. You know, He’s there for these hard things that we experience. He is absolutely there.”   https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/abuse-how-to-help/preventing-and-responding-to-abuse?lang=eng   https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/callings/safety/protecting-children-and-youth?lang=eng   https://thirtyoneeight.org/   @jen_forhealthychurches   https://mikesautoshack.com/   Come Back Team: Director, Founder & Host: Ashly Stone Producer: Lauren Rose Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Editor: Cara Reed Art Director: Jeremy Garcia   Episode sponsor: Serve Clothing https://serveclothing.com/?gad_source=1

Brent struggled silently as a cop with PTSD, until he sought counseling and returned to Jesus Christ.

“When President Nelson came out and said to repent daily, I’m like, how about hourly? Or every 15 minutes for a while. That’s when I realized, after going through all of this, that I was a better cop. I had learned an empathy that I didn’t know existed in me and I realized that most people are good, even when they’re doing stuff that’s not. I realized that a lot of people were going through things that led them to deal with us. That they were broken too and this is how they coped with being broken. I wasn’t in a different place than they were. My outlet was just different than theirs. But that brokenness was still the same.”   Brent’s Podcast: Covered With the Utah FOP   https://utahstatefop.com/10-about-the-association   https://www.utahstatefop.com/images/Home-officers-in-distress/Officer-in-Distress_-The-Real-EnemyC2A0C2A0_C2A0C2A0The-Salt-Lake-Tribune.pdf     https://mikesautoshack.com/   Come Back Team: Director, Founder & Host: Ashly Stone Producer: Lauren Rose Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Editor: Cara Reed Art Director: Jeremy Garcia   Episode sponsor: Serve Clothing https://serveclothing.com/?gad_source=1

I always thought that supporting my family and working for my family was the best thing that I can do. I never realized that quitting my job and becoming sober was the best thing that I could do. I just thought ‘I have to work, there’s no way around this.’ Quitting my job was terrifying! I read the Book of Mormon during that time and my bishop had given me a blessing that said my ancestors and my posterity were watching over me. So even my children’s children were aware of what we were going through.”     Come Back Team: Director, Founder & Host: Ashly Stone Producer: Lauren Rose Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Editor: Cara Reed Art Director: Jeremy Garcia   Episode sponsor: Serve Clothing https://serveclothing.com/?gad_source=1

Van’s experience with addictions and how Christ redeemed him and got him onto a better path.

Parental discretion is advised. “You don’t know the fight that someone has gone through before they walk through those doors. We also don’t know the hours and hours that people have spent on their knees just praying for that moment – for that special time when that person – that brother, or that sister that maybe a mother or father or son or daughter or cousin. That moment that they’ve just been praying and praying that someday they will just walk through those doors. And as members we have this beautiful opportunity  – way before they even get to those handles on those doors and they see the welcome sign right at the front of the church building  – way before that day even comes that we get to choose that we’re not gonna judge them. That we are gonna be those people that say things like, ‘I cannot wait till they get to walk through those doors again. I’m gonna sit right next to them when they show up.’ And ‘it’s okay, she’ll get it figured out. Maybe she’s on the arrest page, but she’ll come around.’ It’s things like that, that we get to have that opportunity. God has given us that opportunity to be those people on his behalf. That has been one of the most beautiful things, being able to do that.”     Come Back Team: Director, Founder & Host: Ashly Stone Producer and Senior Editor: Lauren Rose Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Art Director: Jeremy Garcia   Episode sponsor: Serve Clothing https://serveclothing.com/?gad_source=1

For most of his life, Austin struggled with addiction and homelessness. Until he surrendered himself to God.

Maybe a day or two, I’ve missed because I got sick but I’ve been going ever since. And then I was able to receive the priesthood back and then get to a point where I was able to get my temple recommend. That was another big pivotal moment. To be able to walk inside that temple, and know you’re worthy enough to do it. Cause I’ve fought demons, I’ve done it, you know? And on my birthday, I went to the temple to do baptisms and confirmations by myself, just me. I just needed me. After it was all done, there’s no explanation about how you feel after. You just feel relieved, you feel light, you just feel clean.”   Come Back Team: Director, Founder & Host: Ashly Stone Producer and Senior Editor: Lauren Rose Outreach Manager: Jenna Carlson Art Director: Jeremy Garcia   Episode sponsor: Serve Clothing https://serveclothing.com/?gad_source=1
